“Machaan” as he was called by his friends came from a small town in Karnataka. His father was an employee of Kolar gold mines which shut down, and his mother is a housewife. He was the eldest son with a younger brother and sister.

Manjunath was an upright and honest man – an idealist to a fault, passionate about values, and about making a difference to Society. It was this passion, this standing up for what he believed was right, that cost him his life.
